Cops Ram SuspectHere you will see a police cruiser chasing a suspect, who is running down the middle of the road. They proceed to plow into the guy at a high rate of speed, pitching him into into some grass next to the road. And though don't hear it here, the driver, Lance Cpl. Steven C. Garren,
was apparently caught on another tape saying "Yeah, I hit him. I was trying to hit him," to another trooper.

76. No Nakaina, not end of story. What's gonna happen is people are get fed up with these officers abusing their power and take matters into their own hands. I don't condone that but it is only a matter of time. Just because he was black doesn't mean anything. That's just like these obvious racists who immediately spout; well I know some black people. That still doesn't mean they aren't a racist. Also some of these situations that people get themselves into is totally their own fault. On the other hand if can sit there and really believe that racism does not exist then you are either very naive of very ignorant.

This officer should be stripped of his badge,gun and uniform,fired and then arrested and taken down to the jail house booked,printed and given a cavity search........ and then after all that, he should get his stripes and a cot and be up for not only attempted murder but also afew other charges....... What he did was wrong...... Althow the suspect was on the run gave him no right to abuse his power

78. Exactly as another person responded, if the ones being chased were white, nothing would have been said. It seems it is unlawful to use due force to capture a criminal if they are black. More power to the police for hitting him, just did not do it hard enough.

Ok first off if you watch the video close you will see that the cop first pulled to the right to block the ptah and that is when i guy ran in front of the cruiser, thus creating the sense the cop ran him down. I have been in law enforcement for 5 years now and that is one thing they do teach you to do, block the path. I could see if he were in the middle of the street and the cop came racing up from behind, yes then I would say the cop should go to jail. But lets face it, a cop stops you and you take off what are they to think?? At anytime this guy could have pulled a gun or knife. What would you have done? We are trained to think and expect the worst and pray for the best. It is never easy.

84. Will Bach (up for c**k), let me see if I understand you correctly. You wrote that jackbooted, fascist, nazi thugs, i.e. cops, such as yourself, don't discriminate by color. OOOH!!! How magnanimous of you!! Instead, you discriminate by socioeconomic status (which, really, everyone, if you think about it, is just SOOO much better. The financial, social, and political elite being protected by a working-class taxpayer-funded police force is just heads and shoulders above an egalitarian police force that serves and protects EVERYONE. BTW, cops love to use big, polysyllabic words, if only just to impress themselves as to how smart they are. I'll bet dollars to all the donuts you eat per shift, Will, that your little brain is literally smoking after all that taxing thesaurus and dictionary research for "having to do with the financial resources and behavior of humans in groups".). So, in other words, you would give a green light to an older, black, professional-looking drug kingpin who drives around in a brand new BMW, all the while reaping a fortune off the sale of illegal narcotics, the use of which leads to addiction, crime, overdoses, and ruined lives in general. BUT you would be suspicious of (and most likely harass, given that you're a cop) a 17 year old white boy who was dressed in the contemporary fashion of his peers (ball cap, sweatshirt, jeans hanging down to the crack of his a$$), no matter if said kid was driving a BMW or a Chevette, or even, for that matter, riding a bicycle, and reaping no more than good grades at school. I'm guessing that's probably because you're getting a kickback from the drug dealer. After all, how else are you going to pay for an MBA that you're not using? Oh and, btw, Will, for a guy who went to a fancy-schmancy Big 10 school and has an MBA, your writing and grammar skills are total shite. :)

88. Its sad that everytime something like this happens, other cops come out of the woodwork and support this unjust behavior. Something obviously needs to be done in the screening process for police officers. Intentionaly hitting someone with your vehicle is a serious crime.

89. Well Charlie as a cop you are part of the problem. Of course you will side with the officer and most other people will not. If that was your son would you be so understanding or would you want to shown a little of your own justice to that rouge cop. I dont ever call the cops and I have no use for them really. Given most of them are probably good people, their badge turns them into someone else and they abuse their power and position. He should be fired as what he did was attemped murder.

90. So db025 you are comparing these punks with badges to armed robbers. That is exactly what they are. To hell with that crap, just do what they say. That is ridiculous. I am a 33 y/o black male that is relatively educated, I also have my own trucking business. So I am a very productive member of society that is just fed up with the attitudes of some of these police officers. I wont call them if someone breaks into my house, I will call them afterward, along with the coroner.
