A Republican state legislator named Sally Kern from Oklahoma has come under considerable pressure after some ill-advised, hyperbolic and dare we say inaccurate statements about the threat posed by the apocalyptic scourge of ... homosexuality. Leave it to Ellen to puncture the comments with a mix of seriousness, grace and humor. Watch as she calls to try to talk to the representative, who by the way says she isn't sorry and that she has received death threats because of the comments (though this is apparently a questionable claim). Oh, and she actually has a gay son herself. Bet he feels great about himself.

106. The only thing that is going to sink this country is the continuation of ignorance (its not bliss), not homosexuality! And if it’s in the bible that homosexuality is the sign for the coming of the end then Its part of GODS plan and man shouldn't mess with the big guys agenda. And if homosexuals are going to hell. Well they won't be the only one there because those who preach hate as false profits are also going to hell, so keep it coming I have a set for you right next to me. Also remember this isn’t man's place to make, break or change another person to suit or fit another groups view, if that was the case then the pilgrims would have stayed in England. And now that I put my two cents in, I don’t want anyone to change me to fit there crappy view and I don’t need anyone to save me, when god see fit, he not man will do the saving. And if you want gay people to go back in the closet your daughters will pay for it, because who do you think they are going to marry and what do you think your new son in-law will actually be sleeping with and it won’t be your daughter, maybe your son, but definitely not your daughter. Think about that.

107.
Sally Kern has every right to her personal opinion. I have no idea where she got her information about societies disappearing strictly because of homosexuality. I can't name one. However, if you want to talk about hatred, war, death, and terrorism strictly because of religious beliefs, I'm sure every one of us could list many, many things. Whatever happened to the seperation of church and state? I am a straight christian man. To the best of my knowledge, I don't know any gay people. I don't understand one man being attracted to another man. However, I find it hard to believe that societies will crumble because two men or two women fall in love. You would have a hard time convincing me that God would not be pleased with two consenting adults of any gender/race/religion falling in love. God is love!

108. Is there anyone else out there who has been delivered from homosexuality by Jesus....I was...thank you, Jesus!!!!!!!

109. Eggsngrits you are exactly right!
Gays and all the left constantly say you hate if you disagree with their opinion. They are the closed minded ones who label and accuse.

110. It is so obvious that we have a double standard in this country that is biased against the majority of white people and perpetuated by the liberal media. Blacks, Homos and other "groups/communities" make up just a small percentage of our population yet all the rules are bent in their favor

111. Actually Mark, God does have guidelines...He calls them the 10 commandments....why? Because He created us and wants us to be happen...see, He has the owners manual. So why aren't we happy...because we are sinners and need to be delivered from our sin nature that we are born with...Jesus said, "In order to see the kingdom of God, you must be born again. He's speaking of a spiritual birth...that's what changes our sin nature and wants us to live according to His plan for our lives and not our own. Isn't God great?!!

113. if you are willing to hate another human being and wish them dead/damned without a direct personal reason, then there is something wrong with you and your opinion is therefore obsolete. you have a big suprise coming to you when you get to heaven and god chews your a$$ out for trying to take his place. (assuming all that sci-fi BS is realistic in the first place) you think you know what is up but you are probably wrong and you will surely see for yourselves in the end.

114. This one is for James. Why do you think we get so offended when people call us gay?? I don't care if you say it and it doesn't affect your opinion of me but most people don't say it like that. You get every single f***ing right there is and I can't hold my girlfriends hand in public. People are injured and killed because of their sexual orientation. BEING GAY IS NOT WRONG! One out of ten people is gay. If god hates me because I'm gay fine but if god created the world and all of us then why would he create something he hated. Answer That.

115. I can't believe how hateful people are in these comments. If you all really believe that God's going to punish humankind for being gay over allowing poverty, hate, greed, pride, etc. then you all are fooling yourselves. Gay people are born gay and GOD LOVES THEM. Please place homosexuality in context of when the Bible was written - 2000 or more years ago. But greed lives from generation to generation. Wars continue. Maybe read some of the prophets in the Bible. They were concerned with justice and righteousness, which humankind is overlooking today. God punished people for not taking care of each other.

116. David, yes "we" took prayer out of school, not me, the hated Republican but the liberal thinker. Too much of what is wrong with this country stems from the fact that liberals are governing the way we think, act, and believe. If I believe it's wrong to be gay, then I have that right just as a gay person has the right to label me a "breeder" because I do not agree with man with man or woman with woman. I do not want the gay lifestyle taught to my child in school as an a "acceptable altenative." It is not!!! However, luckily where I live it is not being taught in public school and my child still recites the pledge of allegiance and salutes and honors our flag. But in many bigger cities this is no longer the case, children are taught about homosexuality, do not say the Pledge of Allegiance and are taught no respect for this country or people, and for many, many children in this country school is the ONLY place where they learn their "proper" morals and values since they have none at home. So to answer your quetion, no, bangers are not the root of all our problems, it's the PC BS and the fact what used to be deemed morally wrong in this country has flip flopped into being the new right and only acceptable behaviour because heaven forbid one disagrees, then the wrath of the liberal thinker shall seal your fate.

117. The Senator has "freedom of speech" just like all the
screwed up homosexuals who need to be gathered up and sent to Iraq with Mr. Ellen at the front of the line.

118. Michelle, God never condones homosexuality in the Bible, darlin. If you are a Christian, please read you're Bible because you are misrepresenting God. God loves homosexuals too much to leave them in their sin...He will expose their sin and then deliver them from it...that's why Jesus died, dear.

119. Now, I love Ellen DeGeneres, and her show, and I know and love alot of gay people, but why should someone be scorned for sharing her opinion on the matter. I don't really think she is spreading hate, but her opinion, and the opinion of millions of Americans who don't deserve to be ostracized because of that opinion. Excuse me, but do I still live in America? Does the first amendment not apply to Sally Kern because it's not Politically Correct.
I'm not against homosexuality, but I am against discrimination on either side. If Ellen was bothered by her comments, it would have been bigger of her to just let it alone. I think everyone should just leave everyone alone, if it's not physically or mentally hurting me or my loved ones, then let people do what they want, they'll be judged in the end. However, if you want to really condemn sinners, make sure you aren't one yourself. There are 10 commandments that must be followed, at least before condemning someone else.

120. First of all, I just want to say most of these posts are so close-minded, it makes me laugh.I understand the freedom of speech, and I understand a politicians right to speak their mind.. but I am also curious as to where she gets her facts. Just because some of you dont agree with it doesnt make it wrong. Gays have just as much of a right as we do. You can say God doesn't want it either, but not everyone has to believe in God either. America was founded on the idea of freedom, not hate. Do you honestly think gays are more threatening than terrorism? How sad, your lives are filled with such hatred, its disgusting. If you all are the future of America, God help us all. Its the 21st century, join us in it!
