A Republican state legislator named Sally Kern from Oklahoma has come under considerable pressure after some ill-advised, hyperbolic and dare we say inaccurate statements about the threat posed by the apocalyptic scourge of ... homosexuality. Leave it to Ellen to puncture the comments with a mix of seriousness, grace and humor. Watch as she calls to try to talk to the representative, who by the way says she isn't sorry and that she has received death threats because of the comments (though this is apparently a questionable claim). Oh, and she actually has a gay son herself. Bet he feels great about himself.

91. It's truly amazing how some people (from the "politically correct" agenda) can say whatever they want, on whatever they want and we are supposed to except it because they are so enlightened and they have the right to say it (take for instance Obama'a hate mongering minister), but let someone say something negative about these "PC" nazis' and we have a BIGOT who should keep their mouth shut. The Silent Majority will show up to the polls this year and reclaim the moral high ground that has been left to the Ted Kennedy's of this country for too many years.

92. To Amanda Reckonwith (oh brother!)and all of you other bible-thumping breeders responding to this post: Gay men and women are NOT seeking special rights...we just ask for the same rights that you have. If you don't think that's the case...then walk a mile in our shoes. Oh, I forget...as a breeder, you'll probably not be able to get them to match with what you're wearing, and to be honest, you're not able to walk erect becuase you're knuckles still drag the ground. As for the racist comments throughout this thread(i.e., Sharpton, Obama, et al)...you'll never get it so why waste the breath responding to such laughable idiocy. Remember to pay close attention to the rants of your own local racist preacher, minister or priest (aka child molesters) distort the word of God. What a bunch of phony, pathetic hypocrits. Go figure. Well, gotta run now...there's a new family (with kids!) in the neighborhood that I'm trying to recruit. Whatev. Hope to see you breeders soon at Wal Mart...or the next monster truck rally. Again, whatev...

93. RRamburger, Jesus said straight and narrow is the way and few there are that go there, but, broad is the way of destruction. Interesting you used that phrase...so in answer to your question, it was Jesus Who said there is one way...Him...by the way, He loves us too much to leave us in our sin...because sin brings forth death.

94. Gays do have an agenda and it does play out in the public schools.
For 2% of the Population, they get a lot of attention.
Ellen should remember how the gay loud mouths once
hung her out to dry.

96. Hey Des, you're right it's none of our business what you do in your personal life....but, God loves you and He wants you to know the truth. He tells us to go into all the world and preach the good news...the good news is you don't have to live as a homosexual...

97. Kern is a backwar moron from "oklehome". There is nothing wrong with being gay. It is not a choice and 99% of gay americans are wonderful people. Geez what a bunch of Taliban like hicks.

98. Ellen does the typical "holier than thou" put down on another persons opinion -- Wake Up Ellen "the vast majority of America" DOES NOT approve of what you do -- keep it to your "sarcastic self" & keep it out of our schools and media air waves.

99. 5. Gays are crybabies, why cant they accept that everyone is not cool with it. It's not bad to call something what it is as long as it is not racsist. Gays are so offended it's well...GAY
This gay boy isnt a cry baby far from it. and its all od you homophobic people on these boards that are whimpering. everyone has a right to thier own opinion, but when you put it out for the whole country to hear, better be prepared for the baklash.

101. Your report is inflamatory and inaccurate -- Mrs. Kern's son isn't homosexual, and that threats against her are very serious, the wording is simply crafted to avoid prosecution.
Homosexuality is NOT something the MUST be accepted by everyone. The notion that EVERYONE MUST agree on this is simply a bunch of politically correct control freaks that can't tolerate people that have a different opinion than they have.
Call it "small-minded" and you've rendered yourself intolerant and "close-minded". Listen to what she's saying and decide for yourself what to believe.

102. Haha.
Homosexuals hide behind three straw man arguments that just kill me:
1. "It's between me and God", "You are hypocrites", etc. when talking about Christian denouncement of homosexual behavior. You know what? It isn't relevant to Christians -- they are out to save people from this and all sin! "Live and let live" is NOT a Biblical concept! You are to "go into all the world and preach the gospel"!
2. Homosexuals alwasy throw in some murder of a homosexual by a couple of thugs who did it for the wrong reasons. They NEVER talk about the numbers of children, teens and men raped and murdered for homosexual pleasure.
3. Homosexuals say that "haters" make the case against "homos" sound bad on purpose. The pots calling the kettles black! Homosexuals have appropriated the word "hate" and label all people not like them as "HATE MONGERS"!! News flash: "HATE" is just about the strongest label there is.
The point: Get real. The street runs both ways. Homosexuals stir the pot, other people react, other people stir the pot, homosexuals react. Neither is listening anymore, the divide gets greater.

103. Isn't it being judgmental when someone says you are judgmental and tells you not to judge their behavior? Ummmm? There's nothing wrong with calling sin, sin...God does it in love because He cares too much to leave us in our sinful condition. Jesus said, "repent (turn from sin and unbelief) and believe the good news that He came to die for our sin and deliver us from it and its consequences...death.

104. how the hell did homosexuality, child molestation and murder ever fall into the same category? wow, some people are seriously messed up. everybody is entitled to their opinions, but nobody is entitled to the right to offend people and expect not to be called out on it. i don't know anything about this senator or what she did/didn't say, but i know that people crucify each other for sexual preference all the time and i seriously don't undestand why. it's just a sexual preference. it doesn't have to be such a big deal. it only is when you spend so much time analyzing it. i know lots of gay people act out in a certain way that can be annoying and abrasive. but i bet you didn't know that, for every blatantly gay, feminine guy you see, there are 2 or 3 more that are happy, healthy, successful, and "normal," you just don't realize that they are gay. it should not be a difficult concept to grasp that you really can't make judgements about a group of people that you really don't know anything about, other than your own prejudisms. i mean, i prefer sex in the dark, and i don't crucify people who prefer sex with the lights on, as unenjoyable as it sounds to me. i don't see why people bash others who don't have the same agenda. it is ludicrous, really! i know lots of gay people piss and moan constantly and never seem to be happy, and i am here to tell you that not all of them are like that. but it is a fact that murdering a gay person because of their preference is not considered a hate crime, while murdering a catholic for their preference is; and that is not fair or equal or just, i don't care what world you live in. if you don't comprehend that, than your opinion is pretty much worthless anyway because obviously you are ignorant.to simply feel that homosexuality is unnatural or whatever is one thing. it is your right to believe that if you want, and i won't argue it. but to hate somebody and wish them death for it- that is more immoral than anything. it is like a person who is against alcohol wishing death to those who drink. it is coldhearted and definately not christ-like- a word that so many biggots just love to use. live and let live, how could that not seem to be the best coarse of action? and don't even use the murderer anology, "live and let live? does that mean let people break the law while i move on?" it is a bad analogy. sex between any two people that are consentual and of age should not be a crime in any way. get a life and stop worrying about what people do behind closed doors. anybody who is willing to devote so much time to dehumanizing a group of people has some serious issues to work through. homophobia is usually the result of a) twisted religious beliefs. let god do the work. i am sure he would not approve of everybody trying to outshine him. b) sexual insecurities. it has happened a million times, in case you don't believe me. c) having been raped or molested by a member of the same sex. i wonder how many of these haters are actually crying on the inside over something else. stop hating and go to therapy. you'll be better off.
i know none of these things will change anybody's mind, but i, like you, have the right to voice my opinion. and, unlike most of you, i don't feel that i have offended anybody in the process. if i did, then, in your own words, i am not sorry.
