A Republican state legislator named Sally Kern from Oklahoma has come under considerable pressure after some ill-advised, hyperbolic and dare we say inaccurate statements about the threat posed by the apocalyptic scourge of ... homosexuality. Leave it to Ellen to puncture the comments with a mix of seriousness, grace and humor. Watch as she calls to try to talk to the representative, who by the way says she isn't sorry and that she has received death threats because of the comments (though this is apparently a questionable claim). Oh, and she actually has a gay son herself. Bet he feels great about himself.

391. it is one thing to have and voice an opinion. it is entirely another to quote "supposed" results of a "study" and not be clear of its origin and title. This Senator was not voicing her opinion, she was stating totally inaccurate information as fact ( definition = a lie).
ANd for the wrongfully informed person who declared that the only reason for people to be together is to have children. Then all marriages that do not result in offspring should be voided immediately.
It just escapes me that the most vocal of these people that consider gay marriage a threat to straight marriages how we could screw it up nearly as bad as they have. Obviously they fear that we would get it more right than they do. Afterall, look at the State of MA, the fact that gay marriages are allowed there have totally dessimated that state. Oh yeah IT HASN'T

392. Once again, homosexual agenda advocates (coupled with their ignorant heterosexual enablers) can only respond with chuckles and claims of 'misinformation' ... without providing any.

393. I cannot believe all of the these people that are so hateful, preaching the bible, doesn't it say "LOVE THY NEIGHBOR"??????????????? Stop and think about the dr.s that are saving lives, oh what you are not going to have surgery that could save YOUR life, done if you find out the dr. is gay? And what about out young men and women that are in the military and fighting for us and are gay but you can't say anything, cos you might be beaten and left for dead if OUR troops find out they are gay. Please people get off your high horses, I will tell you what, if I had children and I died, I would definetly want a gay person to raise my child, because believe me they are the most open minded very loving people there are, and guess what 99 3/4 % of them are STRAIGHT!!! I am a gay woman who raised a very polite, loving and giving man who will be gettng married soon, and has a beautiful daughter, do you think he keeps her away from me because I am gay, NO. He knows that I don't preach hatred. SO wake up people and stop using the bible and God in one hand and preaching hate in the other

395. You people are a bunch of hypocrytes, Sally should make her comments but Ellen should keep hers to herself. It really kills that when it has to do with gays or minorities it's a liberal or gay "agenda"! However the second someone forms their own opinion about your religion or background (which usually encourages this hatred) your the first ones to cry about it. Everyone has the right to defend themselves and who they are. It's wrong when you try to tear other people down who haven't done anything to you! You act like some colt is entering into these schools handing out being gay is cool literature or something. Since when is teaching tolerance wrong? I'm sure there were plenty ignorant people like you around when racism was bigger issue then it is today. Luckily through education (sad we needed it at all) the moral majority finally woke up and realized hey "who are we to OWN people?" This country is sad and held back by closed minded people such as yourselves spreading your hate everywhere you can. Go back and read your own comments people! I never post anything on the internet like this but this amount of ignorance can't be ignored!

And should go back into the closet.I don't care if your gay are not.So stop trying to shove it down our throats when you's don't like something someone say's against being gay. That's just tuff your the one's who are different and being gay is NOT the norm thank God

397. Does anybody study grammar anymore? How about spelling?

398. Lets see, smear words used by degenerates to vilify anyone who opposes their sick behavior... "homophobic", "hate-monger", and my personal favorite "xenophobia". They have all kinds of fancy words they utilize to try and make "normal" people feel guilty when they speak out against sick homosexual behavior, but that's all they really have...just words. Hopefully the normal sector of society (which is still the majority) will continue to speak out and never accept these perverts. My respects to Senator Kern for having the courage to her political career and speak the truth. I'm sure the liberal media will tear her apart now.

399. Great point, Janet! Maybe a lot of these people should stop showing their absolute and embarrassing ignorance with poor grammar and spelling.
I wonder, too, if anyone learns anything of government or elementary logic (false arguments vs. true arguments, etc.) I see Joe Blow attempts acceptable grammar and spelling (I don't know about the use of the ellipse and lack of some commas and dropping some words) but can't get facts straight--an example, Kern is not a Senator, she is a Representative. Further, he confuses his own and Rep. Kern's opinions with fact, not to mention his all inclusive reference to Kern's statements as "truth" when she has unsupported claims, paranoid accusations and blatant false statistical references. And, he gives a good example of xenophobia (a fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange) ranting about " sick homosexual behavior" saying "Hopefully the normal sector of society (which is still the majority) will continue to speak out and never accept these perverts". If that doesn't have attitude nothing does!
The reality is that homosexuals don't hurt anyone (remember, most male-on-male child predators consider themselves heterosexual--look it up) and just because you may be repulsed doesn't mean that everyone has to conform to your opinions or even "majority" opinion (like belief that the world is flat or that the universe revolves around the Earth and so on). Even the Christian argument that homosexuality is a sin is trumped by God's call to "Love thy Neighbor" and Jesus' teachings (like the story of the "good" Samaritan).
Everyone should have a right to their opinion--Kern and gays. Ah, but there is always those that can't stand anything different and think that everyone should believe what they believe with no facts or thought needed--what bliss!

400. The majority do and always will feel the same as Kern.

401. Hopefully everyone posting knows that the gay agenda, through various organizations, works very hard to lower the age of sexual consent.
The goal is to have consent lowered to the age of 12. If this ever takes place we will see alot of pedophiles getting away with rape & molestation of CHILDREN because they would be able to claim the CHILD consented.
In this scenerio the pedophile will not be prosecuted even if the CHILD claims to have been lured or tricked or intimidated into a homosexual act.
Mature adults need to ask themselves just one question: Why would ANY homosexual join and support ANY organization that works to lower the age of consent laws for CHILDREN?
We all know the answer. They would benefit if CHILDREN were made legally available for homosexual acts without the bother of prosecution.

402. The average pederast molests an average of 150 boys in his life time...the average heterosexual pedophile molests about 20 girls in a life span. This is a ratio of 7.5 to one.

403. Going After Children:
Gaining access to CHILDREN has been a long term goal of the homosexual movement. In 1972, The National Coalition of Gay Organizations adopted a "Gay Rights Platform" that included the following demand: " Repeal of All laws governing the age of sexual consent."
A spokesman for the homosexual rights movement, clearly states the objectives:" The ulimate goal of the gay liberation movement is the achievement of sexual freedom for all... not just equal rights for lebian and gay men but also freedom of sexual expression for young people and CHILDREN."
This goal has not changed since it was articulated in 1972.

404. Between 1971 and 1991 over 2000 boys reported molestation at the hands of a pederast scout leader.
In the last 20-30 years significant numbers of active homosexuals have entered the priesthood of the Roman Catholic Church. The church allowing this... when knowing that a number of its homosexual priests had, in the past, been victimizing boys as the church turned a blind eye to this illegal behavior.

405. Why is it in a country that states we have freedom of speech & thought a person cannot staed that they disagree with a given live style (gay) without being prosocuted by that group and fored out of their job. Regie White, Was a minister & stated that his beliefs taughthim homosexuaity was wrong. He did not impose that on people he answered a guestion honestly. Yet then He was not allow to continue he carrer as an anouncer due to the gay comunity backlash. Why??? This question & he answer had no effect on his ability to preform his job. Sexual orientation does NOT belong in the work place and does Not neeed to be addrees as a prerequisit for a job nor that you will be a racest pig because one's own beliefs state that you disagree with that life style. Most of us disagree with the gang & durg life style yet we are not chasized for that. Most of us who are gron up can determine whats right and wrong in the work place. As i stated your orientation does not beling in the work place. I worked with a man who made it a point to tell me on several occasions that he was in a great positions as he was a white gay male & they could not fire him. First of all why do I need to know this???? I don't go into work say " Hey I'm A heterosexual male & I.... yada yada...., Work is work, What you do in your private life is privet. I don't care. If I like you as a person I do. If I do not I don't. I have know plenty of 'straights' that I do not like. who's behaviors and actions discus me, " wife/woman beaters, child molesters" and the like, & some who are just plan jerks. But I'm not belittled or my job threatened for that. Just if I say I disagree with the gay life style. By the way I have know and still know several gay /bi sexual people. I even like them. But I still disagree with that life style. But in the end. It's not for me to decide. I do believe in GOD and an almighty power. (some Don't & that's ok too) & I believe that we will all be judged in the end, I will have to face My God for all the things I have done & I have enough to face him or her with to worry about judging your lifestyle. God will do that. & for those of you who don't believe he won't. That's just MY belief. Don't You judge me for that. Which is what you are doing. Allow me the same rights you want extended to you. Don't judge me because I disagree with you.
