A Republican state legislator named Sally Kern from Oklahoma has come under considerable pressure after some ill-advised, hyperbolic and dare we say inaccurate statements about the threat posed by the apocalyptic scourge of ... homosexuality. Leave it to Ellen to puncture the comments with a mix of seriousness, grace and humor. Watch as she calls to try to talk to the representative, who by the way says she isn't sorry and that she has received death threats because of the comments (though this is apparently a questionable claim). Oh, and she actually has a gay son herself. Bet he feels great about himself.

19. Debbie B, I find it ironic that you bring up the lack of prayer in schools yet you can't understand the ramifications of the gay movement. How about the teachings of gay tolerance and so in to kindergarten. Is that acceptable to you? I don't need to have all kinds of sin around me to avoid boredom. There is a narrow road to heaven and it can't be widened because so many have gone astray.
As far as the senator and what you call turning her back on her son. It is called tough love and I am certain she loves her son - it is the sin she hates.

20. Give me a break! there are so many ignorant people its baffeling at this day in age. I really don't beleive that anyone really knows God in any way shape or form. We all have the right to be who we are in this world and we all have the right to our own opinons. If you like gay people well good for you and if you don't like gay people well again good for you. the bottom line is we are all in this together and no ones opinion is better or more right then the other.casting your judgements on others and making anyone feel beneath yourself does not make you a better person it puts you right in line with anyone else you think is going to hell in a hang basket. we need polititions who are for the people not this one and that one but for everyone here on earth and in this country because this is the time and place we are in at this moment. so America give me a break and wake up to reality , but thats just my opinion and how I believe is right by God .

21. Is homosexuality a sin? Yes. Let's ask ourselves what Jesus would do. When Mary Magdalene came up to Jesus a whore possesed with demons, did Christ tell her she was gonna burn in hell and then go on his merry way? No. he cast out the demons and helped her. Our jobs as Christians is to help the lost and alone. Not condemn them. We however tend to sit on our high horse and think we are better than everyone else. We are all sinners. In God's eye a sin is a sin. Christ commands us to love everyone, the murder, the child molester, the liars, the prostitutes, and yes homosexuals. Why? Because he loves everyone. Our job is to help them learn the love of Christ and his sacrifice. Let's show more love and less hate.

26. Is this real? Everyone here is as hateful and judgmental as the next. In one line you say how much you dislike the hate and murderous rampage of society. In another, you promote hate and blasting of gays and love of God. Shame on you Christians. Truth is, Christians are the most judgmental and hateful out there, with more problems than most. I know first hand, I used to be one and grew up in a large pentacostal church. Its a great shame. God will strike you all down for spreading hate and judgement. Jesus would have never spoken like such.

28. Hats off to Sally Kern. It seems like the gays are trying their best to make everybody accept their lifestyle and run it in the ground. Ellen Degeneres needs to accept the fact that not everybody thinks it's ok to be gay. And I'm proud to say that I'm one of those people that doesn't think it's ok.

30. Homosexuality is wrong! Just as not keeping the Sabbath day Holy is. The Lord (God) will rule in the end. Just as the Constitution of the United States is being destroyed so is the Bible and what it stands for. Wake up America we are destroying ourselves.
