A Republican state legislator named Sally Kern from Oklahoma has come under considerable pressure after some ill-advised, hyperbolic and dare we say inaccurate statements about the threat posed by the apocalyptic scourge of ... homosexuality. Leave it to Ellen to puncture the comments with a mix of seriousness, grace and humor. Watch as she calls to try to talk to the representative, who by the way says she isn't sorry and that she has received death threats because of the comments (though this is apparently a questionable claim). Oh, and she actually has a gay son herself. Bet he feels great about himself.

181. The Senator is entitled to her own opinion, and we don't all have the same opinion on certain subjects. But....I feel a person should be judged by how good a person they are, and what's in their heart....not their sexual preference, nationality, religion, monetary status, and so on.

182. I like you Ellen, but give me a break. You are a minority and that is that. I am a Christian and I for one like the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and public prayer. See we all can't be happy all of the time. Get off your soapbox!!!!!

183. L. Barrett....i totally agree. Couldn't have been said better, and for the record Im gay, and proud of it. Im not the type who shoves it in everyone's face.. as honestly I think a queeny lil fag is just as annoying as any other minority whining and complaining. I mean really ppl shut the hell up, mind your own business, and go about your way.

184. 147, let me properly inform you. As a gay teenager I have sinned once in my entire life! I have not ever done harm to anyone and am typically the first person to lend a hand. If your god thinks I should be punished because I am gay then send me to hell or send me and your god to what ever boxing ring he wants to settle this in. Everyone that knows I am gay has one problem with it; I can't have my own kids. They all think that I would be one damn fine dad yet I do believe that kids deserve a mother and a father but when I see that people with your and Rep Kearny's mindset are out having kids then I quickly change my mind. This govt is nothing but a discriminatory govt and is all about money! Don't bother arguing with me because I have specifically spoken with 3 Ohio Senators and was told gay marriage isn't accepted because Ohio doesn't encorperate gays into marriage tax breaks! So if you feel comfortable knowing that a fellow countryman is having his rights taken to save a little bit of money then be my guess and keep electing people that don't give a damn about our constitution or the rights protected under it! It is about time our govt starts doing its job and defending OUR rights! Thanks Ellen I love you!!!

185. I also agree there is no hidden homosexual agenda but your life style is not right. You can make all these excuses calling people bible thumpers and don't judge. The bible states that this is an abomination and when you die and see where your soul is going, you're going to wish you would have changed your life style

186. Amazed, God hates sin...not the sinner. Why? Because sin destroys the sinner that God loves. God came in the person of Christ to deliver man from sin so that He (a holy God) could have a relationship with man. By the way, Jesus identifies the church as "His Body" so if you hate the church you really hate Him.

188. THE SENATOR HAS HER RIGHTS TOO. WHAT SHE SAID IS RIGHT. AS MUCH AS GAYS DON'T LIKE THE BIBLE QUOTES. GOD DOESN'T LIKE GAY BEHAVIOR. ROMANS 1:27 IT ALSO SAYS THIS BEHAVIOR WILL BECOME PUBLICLY ACCEPTED IN THE LAST DAYS 1CORINTHIANS 6:9. DURING THAT TIME MATTHEW 10:22 CHRISTIANS WILL BE PERSECUTED. THIS IS RIGHT BEFORE ALL OTHERS ARE THROWN INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. THE WORDING IS SIMPLE SO EVERYONE CAN UNDERSTAND IT.

189. 158 there is only one thing I regret in my life and I can assure you it's not being gay! I have lived a decent and good life helping hundreds of people and if you can't see good in people because of one issue then you truely are iggnorant.

190. Mike, you've sinned 1 time in your whole life and you're gay? Sorry dude, but, your whole lifestyle is rebellion against God...you're in denial, dude. I'm I a homophobe? NO, I use to be gay...Jesus delivered me. Praise His holy name!!!

192. Homosexuality is a sexual preference, or dare I say a fetish, and like other sexual preferences; bondage, anal, multi partner s&m, beastiality, role playing, etc., should be kept private. Talking about these and other sexual preferences one partakes in, in the public, work place or anywhere else will get you judged, as they should. Expecting people to like it and bashing them as homophbiac if they don't is wrong. Getting special treatment for it, changing our laws, constitution, etc. for it, is wrong; raising children in that environment can make it unnecessarily difficut on the child; and,'bashing' those who disagree with their sexual preference/lifestyle is wrong (shows a lot about the 'tolerance' and acceptance they spout about.) I don't hate homesexuals (I just think what they do is immoral and disgusting (as I do about beastiality, s&m, and the other preferences noted above) and that they feel the need to shove it in our faces and the faces of children) and I am entitled to my feelings and opinions, too. I actually like Ellen and her comedy. I also think that she does some good things with her name and her charity work.

193. Would anyone like to confess that they are a sinner and ask Jesus to come into their heart and save them?

194. To the bible quoter, wrong, as usual, there is not one quote from God in the bible, not one. It was written by men, who had the same human weaknesses and phobias that we have today. So don't use the bible as your excurse for your hatred of fellow human beings. Hatred for any reason, IS conidered a sin. Sally Kern is an elected official, therefore, her comments are a matter of public record. She MUST represent all who live in her district, not just a group of radicals.
