Veterinary Surgeons Perform Transplant
This news story proves the old adage that cats do have 9 lives (but in this case with a 'little' help). The kitty in question -- Chad -- is owned by Betsy Muirden who did not hesitate to pay $10,000 for Chad to have a life saving kidney transplant. Betsy even adopted the donor, a stray cat named P.D. -- which probably stands for Pretty Darn (lucky!). All we can say Chad is you better not get caught clawing the couch or peeing in the corner after your owner coughed up that kind of money, but come to think of it Betsy probably wouldn't really mind.

3. I think it's great. I am an animal lover and would not hesitate to do the same for my cat. It's her money and she can choose to do what she wants. I say this because I know we will get comments relating to how many homeless people could be fed, etc. That is a thorn in ym side when people I don't know seem to think they can tell me how my money should be spent. Have a nice day all.

5. LOL what is this this world coming to?
10,000 for a kidney for a cat??? I do think I could spend that money a bit more wisely, like feed some hungry children or help a deserving family in need..
Amazing what people will do..

6. $10,000 could save many human lives of people born under less fortunate circumstances than us.
Or it can be used to keep a cat with an IQ of three alive for a few more years.
This is beyond sick...

FYI, animals are superior to humans.

9. Just goes to show you how stupid some people can be. Let's spend the money on a damn cat. Don't send it to St Judes Hospital, hell they would just waste it on saving children. What a great sense of priorities.

Really? Wasn't she from India, the home of starving humans? I suppose in a way, she was right. India wasn't that great.

11. I completely understand and agree with what this cat owner did. I have a cat that needed surgery last summer on his his urinary tract. The price tag - almost $9,000. I didn't even have to think twice about it. Homeless people have other charities to help them out - my cat has only me.

12. I think its great that the other cat voluntarily donated his kidney, I would love it if some human in need of a kidney picked me at random and forced me to give up one of my vital organs.

13. So many real people are doing without meds they need or treatment they need and she drops 10K on a cat. I am just sitting here shaking my head. Cats don't live that long, anyway.

14. Some people are unfortunate to not be able to have children, which I am one of those people that would have loved to have a child to spoil, But I believe god made several kinds of people and he made me an animal lover. I too would spend what ever it takes to have the pet that uncondtionally loves me and has been my friend for ever.. The money that we spent is little compared to what you spend on a child these days. And people that are homeless have a choice. I do and I work, no matter if it is cleaning toilets or serving food. I am displaced from job and will do what ever it takes to stay afloat and take care of myself.......But I will not become homeless, because I can work.........

15. Kitties are luckier than the large number of people waiting for donated kidneys. Personally I don' know why we can't sell one of our kidneys if we have 2 normal ones. Some people are born into wealth and they do not share it with others. Why should being born with 2 normal kidneys be any different. And then we could all pitch in for those who couldn't afford one.
