For months, Houston residents Diana and Oscar Mijares heard about behavior problems their daughter Megan was having in school -- problems she wasn't having at home. The concerned parents bought a tape recorder and hid it in the girl's 'High School Musical' backpack. Turns out, 4-year-old Megan isn't the problem ... it's her teacher, who was recorded saying things like "I'm going to be mean to you" and "Y'all are just stupid kids." Not surprisingly, the Mijares -- and other Houston-area parents -- are outraged, and are demanding that the teacher be dismissed.

91. This happens all the time, I'm glad two parents were good and damn ready to protect their kids...cause I'm sorry, if you verbally abuse a kid, or hurt one on purpose, I dont give 2 shits about your rights as a person anymore.

92. No professionalism here...fire the teacher and get on with it.

93. Sorry ya'll, but unless you've never said anything negative to another human being, you have no right to judge this teacher. I'm not saying it was acceptable, but no one's perfect, and everyone's subjective to a little tantrum once in awhile. And until you become a teacher, and walk in their shoes, don't talk about this one.

94. Reassigned? She's not fit to teach in THIS classroom but her nasty character will fit in better in some other classroom? Was this a Catholic pre-school? Cause we know how they handle their priests that sexually molest little boys don't we? I believe it's called "reassignment" to some other parish. I am a Catholic, by the way. I'm sorry to be so blunt but after reading this story and hearing the tape I am not in a very good mood.

95. I don't blame the parents one bit for doing this. They were only trying to figure out the reason for their daughter's behavior problems. Now they know. Is this really the way we want teachers (or any other adult, for that matter) talking to our kids?? She obviously needs to choose another profession.

96. maybe some of the comments were out of line but not in so much as to fire her. she is a person who handles GOD knows how many children each day. i love my grand-daughter to death but could not be with her each and everyday with 20 or so more children on top of it. give her a break. my heart goes out to these teachers and what they do.if we all lok back, we most asuredly had some teachers in our days who we thought were mean. chit, if we messed up then we got paddeling with a board.children do misbehave, and they do need to be corrected. we have taken GOD and prayer out of school, now we want the teachers to act like angels?

97. Okay. To the person who said "that's public school for you"...
Obviously you went to some kind of private/religious school? Well sorry us "public school kids" can't afford to pay for our grades. I see how much it did for you.
I went to a public school and all of my teachers were fantastic.

98. You parents have no idea what teachers go through with your little monsters. This poor teacher was probably at her wits end and I totallyyyyyyyyyyy understand that !!!
Maybe her "you're just stupid" comment was uncalled for but the rest - maybe you should look at having your kids behave better at school and stop blaming the staff so much - curb your kids!!!

99. It is wrong what this teacher did, no doubt about it.
But you all got to read number 2 answer right upfront and it will scare you more than the teacher.
this parent likes to get a cemetary plot for a teacher who talks like that. NO wonder our BRAT'S are what they are today. Todays parents are the MOST permissive on earth and America is the FRONT-RUNNER in this.
pampered brat's. My kid's tell me thanks today for not
beeing a SAP and letting them get away with crap like todays parent's. Go get your PLOT for yourself NOW.

100. I am a little upset with the sympathies from the former/retired teachers. You of all people should know that your are shaping our future and your little "off days" and "slipping up" frpm frustation with mean comments to a child is an upsurd and pathetic exuse. I taught pre-school and after school programs for six years twelve hours a day in a licensed facility. I know its not an easy job. But please, some of those kids only have school. Pity

101. Maybe she was right! I am constantly baffled by those who display shock and disbelief at the increased violence in our society. By now it has become obvious we are beginning to reap the results of decades of having children raised by day care centers and teachers with no interest or ability to teach right and wrong. We keep children sheltered from failure, award them for just showing up and taught them by inaction that there are no consequences for bad behaviour. We instilled in them rights, a feeling of entitlement, relative values and the belief that all their needs are justified and should be met. Congratulations to the academics, child psychologists, other free thinking politicians and social architects whose ideas have born fruit.

103. No teacher should ever talk to 4 and 5 year olds this way no matter the situation...I too taught in an inner city school and would never talk that way to my children and I had MANY behavioral problems....A relative is teaching inner city 6th grade right now and in the last couple of years she has been cussed at more times than in her 30 years of teaching...Just last week a girl was making reference to giving a Bjob..When my relative told her that that was very inappropriate and that she needed to stop, the girl yelled F**** You B****, make me....My relative luckily remained calm and told her she needed to go to the office...She has boys grabbing their crotches and telling her to S*** This when she tries to reprimand them....It is just unbelievable....But, to do this to 4 and 5 year olds is reprehensible.

104. Teachers are arrogant 90% of the time. Ever go for that first conference in November? Talk down their noses to you. You sit in "little chair," they sit in desk chair - psychological advantage. If they want a "conference," you go in by yourself, there are six of them at the table with you; that's to intimidate you. Our kids were good students, intelligent, well-behaved. One was a little slower than the other three, nice, sweet little girl. The "Talking Heads" wanted to put her in Special Ed (no really good reason, just teacher has to spend time with her). She was five years old. I said, "Unh-unh. Not gonna happen. Five year olds NEED time with a teacher; your problem, not mine." This kid graduated in top third of her class.

105. to poster Mrs. Hunt: the teacher has no reasonable expectation of privacy being that she is speaking in a public place. anyone can be taped in a public place. there's no law against that. there IS (or rather WAS) a law against being taped in private. the patriot act has done away with that one...
