For months, Houston residents Diana and Oscar Mijares heard about behavior problems their daughter Megan was having in school -- problems she wasn't having at home. The concerned parents bought a tape recorder and hid it in the girl's 'High School Musical' backpack. Turns out, 4-year-old Megan isn't the problem ... it's her teacher, who was recorded saying things like "I'm going to be mean to you" and "Y'all are just stupid kids." Not surprisingly, the Mijares -- and other Houston-area parents -- are outraged, and are demanding that the teacher be dismissed.

76. Okay, this woman had absolutely NO RIGHT to call the kids stupid! They may be acting stupid or something they did may be stupid but the kids themselves are not stupid! I have seen how kids act and I can understand her frustrations however I do not condone her actions!
While it is true that no child is an angel when they are away from their parents all the time, but the parent does know their child better than anyone else. I know for a fact how my kid acts away from because I ask the people who watch him on those few nights I go out with my husband (once a month or two if that much) to let me know ho he was while I was gone! I also have told these people what is an acceptable punishment for certain behaviors and what is not!
No one should be teaching if they are not prepared to deal with other peoples demon spawn cause let's face facts people ther are a lot of demon spawn out there in ALL of our schools not just the public ones!

78. People send their children to school to learn, not to be a disruption to the learning process. The teacher is in charge and has to maintain control. What the parents did in this situation is totally wrong, they are violating the basic rights of the teacher. I hope that this teacher files a suit against them and wins.

79. My goodness. Everyone here who says that the teacher was just disciplining the students and it was no big deal... please do not talk, look, have, or spend any time with children. Yeah everyone has rough days, but it is never ok to talk to little 4 or 5 year olds or any students like that. You figure something else out to deal with the problem no matter what. this teacher is obviously a burnt out teacher and should not be teaching anymore. There are ways of handling discipline problems that are not lowering a students self-esteem. It takes dedication though. Obviously not something this teacher has anymore. Calling a student stupid is not going to make them learn more. Embarrising them in front of their peers is going to make them hate going to school. If you are reading this and you think it is ok to talk to children this way think about it somemore, you might be the reason psychiatrists make so much money.

80. Ya nothing "maintains control" in a classroom of 5 year old better than calling them "stupid".
You must be another teacher.

83. As a former teacher I can understand the frastration of present day teachers, however, calling some kid stupid, it is stupid on the part of the teacher. Teachers are human and sometimes they loose it. But no, teachers cannot be anything but the villain as far as parents are concerned. Children, now a day, are given everything and their wish is done, no matter how ridiculous it may be. We are too permissive and unless we take hold of ourselves and teach our children that the world is not a garden of roses, but a garden that contains all kinds of good and bad things. Teach them how to distinguish good from evil and above all teach them that teachers are to be respected, otherwise, we better start importing teachers from third world countries. Judging from the name of the little girl, she is taught Spanish at home and in an English environment, the little girl does not understand her teacher who unfortunately did not understand the predicament of the little girl. The teacher was wrong and she should be reprimanded, however, from the reaction of the postings, they are ready to string her up. What country do we live that people are ready to go to such extremes to show their disapproval?

84. All of you are saying that this teacher should be fired.. I used to teach pre-school and I actually had one of those students to tell me to F*** OFF- Now you think all these four year olds are so innocent and some are but there are those "few" that can get a good teacher FIRED!

86. I am NOT surprised to hear about this. This has been happening for some time and it's about time someone taped it and did. My daughter had this problem starting in Kindergarten all the way til she graduated from high school. She is now in college.
Teachers today get away with far too much and not held accountable for their actions.
I have witnessed it with my own eyes and ears and because if it have pulled her out of classes due to a teacher that was belittling a student in front of their peers or doing it to the whole class. In high school our daughter and other students in her class were able to get a teacher fired for this kind of behavior.
Believe me, there are teachers out there that are like that. Not all of them, but the ones that are, give the teachers that do care ~ a bad name.

87. Dang I wish my kid would have been there to be talked to like that. Then i would ahve had a reason to knock this f*c*ing skanks teeth down her throat.

88. I dont believe Diane is agreeing with the teacher. No one is to be talked to like that, no adult or child. If temper is your problem seek another job. Its shocking that you agree. You must not have kids, or a heart. Thank god your no longer a teacher. amen.

89. To Laura, This teacher wasn't "set up". Why should it matter if the teacher was being taped if she had nothing
to hide? If conditions are so bad in the classroom that
a teacher needs to worry about being taped, then there is a problem that needs to be investigated. If she is
doing her job properly and treating her students properly, then why would she care who tapes her?

90. Any teacher that says "Y'all" has no business being a teacher.
