For months, Houston residents Diana and Oscar Mijares heard about behavior problems their daughter Megan was having in school -- problems she wasn't having at home. The concerned parents bought a tape recorder and hid it in the girl's 'High School Musical' backpack. Turns out, 4-year-old Megan isn't the problem ... it's her teacher, who was recorded saying things like "I'm going to be mean to you" and "Y'all are just stupid kids." Not surprisingly, the Mijares -- and other Houston-area parents -- are outraged, and are demanding that the teacher be dismissed.

798. I teach first grade and today I had to deal with a boy who was hitting, bothering, bullying, other children, running all over the hallway not minding myself or the TA. He throws desks, chairs, pencils, screams and growls. This is not the first time either. Talking to parents does nothing. The only reason I did not bash him through the wall was that I did not want to go to jail or lose my job. So the point is this........these moments happen but they always end. You go home aggravated and totally spent. The way I handle it is to remember that this so called "child" doesn't belong to me and I only have a couple of months left before this brat goes home to momma for the summer and I don't ever have to put up with him again.

799. This behavior of this teacher is just reprehensible and I can't believe that some of the teachers on this site actually stand up for this. I work with children who have various forms of behavioral issues and would never think of doing anything like this. I am wondering if this is a classroom of mainly latino or other ethnic children. Just seems to me, from hearing this, that this is some sort of racial thing for this teacher

800. Oh, yeah, they're all such good kids at home, this was an interesting statement. This may be true but if you get them around 20 some of their own age, things become much different attuides change, behavior changes and listening becomes a problem. While I don't support the teacher using the word "stupid," I am a teacher of just this age. I fully understand the frustration of this teacher. Children at this age can be nasty and very disrespetful to both their teachers and their peers. The most patient teacher can and will lose it at some points. I have had parents come to me after spending 20 minutes in my classroom asking me how I do it on a daily basis. I tell them that children are my life and teaching is a passion. This teacher was wrong in this situation but one thing that parents need to understand and know about is that the district/school that you may be sending your children to might be over ratio and this may have caused a lot of what this teacher is dealing with.. I can relate to this teacher and my heart goes out to this teacher, It is hard you just have to take teacher time-outs more.

801. There is a crazy 6th grade teacher at North School in Jacksonville, IL too. One day you talk to her and she tells you how great your child is doing and two or three days later you get a nasty note home that they're 3 weeks behind in their work. And if she has to help a student with a subject they're having trouble with sometimes she'll wait a week to do it and then mark their paper late and fail them. TBhe children aren't always angels, but the teacher is there to teach not to assign work for the parents to teach. Some of us don't have cushy 8 to 4 Monday through Friday all weekends holidays and snow days off. 60 Minutes should go into her classroom. Sure glad we were able to move to a different school district. now that horrible child is getting B's and C's

805. My 9 year old son was assaulted by his teacher he is blind native and developmentally delayed. We have been told they do not help natives in Georgia. No one is even giving us counseling. He did nothing to initiate it. This is not the first incident.
