For months, Houston residents Diana and Oscar Mijares heard about behavior problems their daughter Megan was having in school -- problems she wasn't having at home. The concerned parents bought a tape recorder and hid it in the girl's 'High School Musical' backpack. Turns out, 4-year-old Megan isn't the problem ... it's her teacher, who was recorded saying things like "I'm going to be mean to you" and "Y'all are just stupid kids." Not surprisingly, the Mijares -- and other Houston-area parents -- are outraged, and are demanding that the teacher be dismissed.

751. Though I do not agree with calling anyone 'stupid', especially children, being a teacher today can be extremely frustrating. Children (students) can get by with being rude, disrespectful, and very mean to the teacher, but teachers have to restrain themselves trying to be professional, and refrain from being 'human'. It really isn't fair to the teacher. Why should teachers have to put up with all the harassment from students, but students get by with just about everything short of physical harm to the teacher? I know, I've been there, done that. School administrators have to pick their battles, too, and dealing with rude, disrespectful students is not at the top of their list. It really isn't fair at all.

752. Come on people we are talking kids and adults, yeah kids are disruptive and push, but the teacher is an adult and knew what he or she is getting into. As and adult she should have known better. Teachers also have issues at home also, but yet they bring it to school and take it out on the kids. Not all teachers do but some dont. Look if you cant tollerate the kids then get out of the classrooms, I and others do not need you abusing our kids and when they do act up try to blame everything on the parents.

753. more children should be sent to school with security monitoring devices in their backpacks. I remember teachers like this.

754. Honestly if it were illegal to videotape a conversation without consent, wouldn't the cops be constantly breaking the law( this goes for the comments b4 me) N e ways i really think the teacher should lose her job....i mean honestly a childs early years is when they develope the most so why should children be the target if the teachers pissed off.. i mean really i thought teachers were suppose to be more influencial then that...for we know those kids are either petrified or will interpet her attitude as a proper way to talk since she is a higher authority...

755. I have to hear on the news constantly how underpaid and overworked these teachers are....right.......three months off every summer, a guarenteed retirement, and job because you can't get rid of the jerkoffs with their union contracts...anyone who sticks up for this teacher must be one themselves

756. Hello, the kids are 4.... for all of you talking about how your heart goes out to the teacher and how rough they have it with kids today. I could understand those comments if the Kids were 13 or in high school... then teachers really do have it rough today with rude nasty kids that parents don't teach respect. The kid in this story is 4. If you can't deal with a 4 year old as a trained and educated adult then maybe you are the one who is stupid.

757. oh wow, someone would have had a time talking to me like that when I was five!! I would have hit her with the yard stick and said "time-out for teacher!". If someone did that to my 7 year old, I would walk right up to her and clock her in her jaw, and yes jail time would be worth it, because you just DONT let your kids get treated like that! By ANYONE!!

758. and if the teacher was reassigned: I dare you to say something else smart, because I will be laughing my ass off when someone whoops your sorry low life ass!!!! You do not need to teach, you need to be listed right among with child offenders!! Because that is sick, and I really hope it catches up with you!!

759. How can any of you be on the teacher's side. Teachers should be patient...THAT'S WHAT THEY DO!!! Those kids are just babies. Imagine being four years old, acting like a four year old and an adult calling you stupid! That would scar you for life! Any of you ignorant people who side with this obviously immature teacher, have serious issues! And God help your children should you have any.

760. Diane,
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING excuses this behavior! My daughter had a teacher like this teaching her french class in a supposedly 'Christian' school in Littleton, Colorado, and what sickens me the most is that she got away with it. I just wish I would have thought of what these parents did and sent a recorder with her. I was being told that she was acting out at school, but it was just that class. I raised her to stand up for herself, and that's exactly what she was doing. If I ever see that teacher again, Well...Let's just say she better hope I never see her again and leave it at that.
I don't care how frustrated a teacher gets, there is always a door they can step out of and calm down. Would you excuse someone for shaking their crying baby because they got frustrated? No, you wouldn't. This is the same thing.

761. I can't believe the what the Teacher said to the children. In our schools today Teachers need to put up with the spoiled spoon fed children with filthy mouths and they get angry back. They should realize that smacking a childs hand or detention in the corner is no longer exceptable so the kids can run rampart do what they please with no retaliation for the teacher. I have noticed kids dont understand punishment for crimes that leads them to guns in schools, foul language toward adults and crimes against each other. I see they don't make public what the children were doing at the time of the Teachers comments. I know let them get out of control then FIRE THE TEACHER! Maybe she stepped out of bounds but why and she doesnt need to be fired just instructed on better repremands for unruley children!

762. IN MY DAYS i HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO HAAVE TEACHERS THAT DID NOT GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE BUT WENT TO FINISHING SCHOOL. THEY WEE THE MOST TRAGIC AND INCOMPETENT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. iT WAS DURING WW2 AND THESE IDIOTS WWERE JUST ABUSING STUDENTS IN GRADE SCHOOL VERY MUCH SO. sOME EVEN SLAPED THE STUDENTS AND EVEN THREATENED TO EXPEL THEM FROM THE CLASSROOM.
IN THOSE DAYS YOU COULDN'T INFORM YOUR PARENTS BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T BELIEVE YOU. HOWEVER, FATE DOES TURN AROUND AND ONE DAY I CONFRONTED A MISS KELCH AS I WAS TRAVVELING THROUGH THE BIG APPLE WITH MY CHILDREN AND INFORMED MY LADS THAT THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST THAT I EVER HAD IN A CLASSROOM...HEARING THAT SHE FAINTED AND I CALLED 911 AND HAD HER CARTED AWAY......REVENGE IS SURELY SWEET.

763. Is no one taught that to name someone is to name yourself? On the playground the vernacular was,"It takes one to know one." It seems to me mannners are a prerequisite for an orderly environment. I have the impression that is one of the reasons kindergarten was added to the school system.

764. I am a high school teacher and couldn't agree with comment #10 more. Many years ago I was a substitute teacher in Madison WI (I now teach in TX).One afternoon I was scheduled to take care of a kinder class. As the kids come off the bus and into the school, I was waiting for them at the classroom door. This little boy, about waist-high to me, looks up and asks "Who the F--K are you?" It's sad to think that kids haven't changed much after 11 years of teaching. Every kid I have problems with, once I meet, or talk to the parents, I understand why the kid is apathatic towards school or a behavior problem. Parents today refuse to be responsible and teach their kids manners and respect.

765. hmmm... the "Y'all are stupid kids" was a bit uncalled for, but, to be perfectly honest, i think that the kids were probably hitting a few of her pet peeves. i know i had some REALLY irritated teachers... but i think the teacher needs to calm down.
