Here's why your pristine Samsonite bag arrived at the baggage claim a little banged up the last time you passed through Vancouver -- this handler was either having a bad day, or he really dislikes his job. Regardless, he's taking it out on the bags, tossing them around carelessly. Hope you didn't pack anything fragile!

302. You guys are very naive....this is normal ...he wasnt mad or having a bad day..this is how bags are unloaded...maybe you should try this job and then have a opinion....unloading 300 to 500 bags per flight for 8hrs????

303. I saw a baggage handler in Copenhagen do even worse things. I was watching him through a plane window, and he very purposefully aimed very heavy suitcases where they'd land on carefully wrapped packages and softer luggage. The way he threw things was an obvious attempt to cause damage and I'm sure he was successful. His luggage "handling" was much harder on a back than it needed to be because of his evident anger. Strong guy, though. Stinker!

304. I think it's time for you people to be realistic. If you had to handle between 100 to 200 bags per flight for maybe ten to fifteen flights a day, weighing anywhere from twenty to seventy five pounds would you be stretching in to that cart, pulling each one out, lifting it, turning around and laying it gently on the conveyor belt without taking any short cuts????????? Also take into consideration that they work outside in all different temperatures and all kinds of weather and that he probaly already handled the same bags when they came off the plane. Most people wouldn't be able to physically handle this type of work for a day let alone years. As compared to years ago, flying is damn cheap and everybody is flying around the country for less than what bus fare would be and the airline employees are receiving the bad end of the deal with decreased wages and benefits. Many not receiving more than minimum wage. If your flying, be smart...carry on your fragile stuff and pack a durable bag to check in. Besides what you've seen in this video, your baggage gets handled by many more people, rides belt systems, travels in carts, gets x rayed, etc. at both your departure and arrival airports. Don't expect it to arrive in pristeen condition and leave the sirline employees alone. They're just trying to do their job even when their employers are trying to screw them.

305. it doesn't seem excessive to me. i take 20 or so fights per year and i would think that this handling (or worse) was par for the course.

306. After watching the clip 3 times, all I can say is people get a clue. If you think thats abusive, then you never seen an airport when its busy.... Nobody is going to take the time to gently put it down.Get real.

308. Get a life. This guy is doing what he has to do to get those bags aboard so you can get to your destinations. What you need to do is buy better luggage and then it won't matter what they do to it...If you think a $50.00 set of leggage will protect anything you need a salive test......

309. Blueleroy, your don't want him changing tires do you? I think you should just use soft luggage, when traveling.

310. yeah this wasn't really that bad... imagine if that was YOUR job every day forty hours a week... you wouldn't be placing down anything gently... you'll never see those bags again so most people wouldn't care... it's not like he body slammed them lol i was expecting worse

312. This guy is a perfect example of why ALL baggage handlers should be monitored. Not only because of the damage they do but also because of the amount of items they STEAL every year.

313. Remember the gorilla in the old Samsonite commercial? Maybe we should fire humans & employ gorillas. Bags might stand a better chance.
