Television wags have sniped that the Super Bowl is the only television event where viewership would actually decrease if the commercials were removed. We'd have to agree. Even with sponsors not blinking at price tags clocking in at $2.7M to $3M for a 30-second spot, some ads are thrown overboard into the wake of the information diaspora that is the Internet. Over the years, various networks have turned away many an ad -- judging them as either too offensive, downright embarrassing or masquerading as dreaded 'advocacy ads.' We at The Videologist have labored -- undeterred by the NFL -- to wade through many bouncy chests, bared bottoms and awkward kisses to figure out why exactly these ads were dismissed. It was tough work.
'Britney Spears'
Pepsi, 2002
Spot Remover: Back when she was the embodiment of budding sexuality, Britney Spears brought her dance moves and provocative leering to new heights in this Pepsi commercial. Skimpy outfit aside, her curvaceousness had to be edited onto to the dance floor, leaving us an advert much like a 24-hour old lukewarm Pepsi-Cola. In retrospect though, what was the fuss all about?
A Likely Sponsor: 'Dance War' -- who knew this reject signaled the beginning of dancing as a contact sport?
Most Offended: The marketing geniuses at Coke.

166. Britney Spears' Pepsi commercial is not too racy for TV in my opinion. And in my opinion there is nothing wrong with Britney Spears' Pepsi commercial.

168. Yep women are not the only "victim" anymore. Why not look at what that woman did to get herself beaten in the 1st place. In this day and age of radical feminism and absolute lack of morals by women(Look at MTV and reality shows...women gone wild). Save your cry for women. Where is the statistics on men being abused and taken advantrage of. Women take all our money and treat it as if it is expected and we are supposed to we spend all our money on them. And in return women do ZERO for us. Women are takers and give zero. All they do give is nagging, headaches, emotional meltdowns and extreme irrationality. And we are considering having a woman for president????...Um, NO THANK YOU.

173. Past time, Past time, Giants win 08, as result..The patiots get beating buy an amazing 17 to 14 game, to the lost of the patriots (18-1) there undiveated season ended, in Glendal, Arizona.. 2/3/08. No one expected the Underdog (Giants) to win. But, I am 'not' saying, under ANYTHING, saying the football well ever be more important then 'Life' it self, its just a game, to let all your cares alway. To see who gets crushed to the ground for amusment, or castrophicies..But, as required, life need some amusment to keep it going, and yes i am talking to the first readers comment. Life is 'aLWAYS' going to be violent, one way or another, so, as result, we help those in need....

176. while physical abuse is no laughing matter. It is up to you to protect yourself. If you man is hitting you get out, get help or go away for the game and after game activities. Let the guys and gals enjoy their game. Not having a superbowl will not stop domestic abuse. Only you have the power to make it stop.

178. Dear Record Company Execs:
Please, please, please stop signing the likes of Britney Spears and rappers and start siging real songwriters and good bands again. Perhpas that is why noone is buying any CDs and illegal downloading because the music today is pure crap and not even worth $.01.

179. Mzztlove, sounds like you have some issues. As a victim of abuse myself, it does leave a wretched mindset. However, blaming the NFL, an organization who and its players have payed out billions to organiztions like the United way that combat abuse. You obviously hate men and unless you get help youll only be setting yourself up for carrying on the abuse that got to you
