The author of this video claims he's decoded what he calls the 'world's best kept auto secret,' which will make your life a lot easier. We were super excited to hear that there was a way to never again forget on which side of the car our gas cap is on ... until we tested the trick in this video and found out that when it comes to our car, it's untrue. This means that either our car is so special that the universal rule doesn't apply to it, or the video is bogus. So we dare you to go and check if the trick works on your car, and leave your findings in the comments. Oh, one last note to the author: It's called 'discomfort' not 'uncomfort.'

1. Not true. My Honda Accord shows the handle on the right but the tank is on the left.

2. My gas cap is not on side that the gas pump shows in my van.

3. I have a Toyota and the gas cap is where they should be: on the passenger side.
I see these other cars with the gas cap on the driver's side and I wonder when the driver pulls up close to the pump, how he ever opens his car door without banging into the pump.

4. This is false......who in the world made this video. I have looked at many cars, and not a one of them had the handle on the side the gas tank is acutally on. Good grief.......someone must of been extremely bored.

8. Not true for my Jeep Liberty after I went out to check...however, I did notice something I never noticed before....right next to the little gas pump icon I have an arrow POINTING to what side my gas tank is on!...so even though this theory wasn't right for my particular car, I did find a way to remember what side my gas tank is on...THANKS! :)

9. We have a 1997 vehicle and a 2007 vehicle. The handle is on the right, but the tank is on the left. There is however an arrow that point to which side of the vehicle the tank is on. Both vehicles are made by Chrysler, if that has anything to do with it.

12. What if you don't have a gas pump on the dash where your gas gauge is at? Retard. Not every car has a gas pump on the gauge cluster and I don't think the video is accurate.

14. I was so curious to know if this "secret" is true that I went out right away in the freezing cold and rain to check which side the pump handle is on...on both my cars...I found that both handles are on the right but the tank is only on the right side of one of my cars. So much for making my life easier!

15. This video is really bogus and outdated. There has been an e-mail message making the rounds for the last month or so, with this same information, and it is so untrue.
