Shocking Sawyer
Well la-di-da to you! Watch as one-time Annie Hall Diane Keaton was busy buttering up -- and we mean buttering up! -- Diane Sawyer when all of a sudden she threw a wild 'F-bomb' into the foxhole that is the usually staid 'Good Morning America.' Listen as the crowd then lets out an audible 'shame-on-you' groan as their G-rated morning show was ruined.
Diane's New Motto: 'I do more cursing before 9 a.m. than most people do all day.'

376. If this was europe it would be no problem. Americans are just to up tight.

377. P.S. Yes, I watched it , because I love to watch both these women. They are a joy. You know what? I am not deaf, but even paying close attention to the banter between the two, I certainly did not even hear the big "F" word, and again so what? For all of you cry babies pouting about Little Johnny and Little Becky, give me a break! You know you are just as useful in deploying the same word. They've heard a hundred times by the time they are 2.

378. To Number 13
You need to "worrie" about your spelling, instead of your kids "hearing" the word that is as common now as inflation. Instead of watching GMA with the kids, try spending time with "Hooked on Phonics". Worked for Bush!

379. Oh, Geez! Hey! C'mon! I saw that airing last week and let me tell you this: First of all Diane's a big girl and wears big girl panties everyday. Diane cracked up, laughing. There was no "shame on you groan" from the audiance and it's notable that TMZ edited that part as well....smut mongers! Hey! C'mon TMZ>>>do you need a new victim? Now that you've nearly killed Britney are you looking for greener pastures? Well, go ahead and just try the same crap on either of these two incredible women. Either one would easily chew you up and eat you for breakfast while languishing in a coma. Anal Orifices,TMZ, are you all!

380. AOL Headlines are so sensationalist!
Ms. Keaton didn't "curse at a reporter"...
She used a curse word in conversation. I swear, AOL...get a life!

381. I did not hear the interview but that word is the most irritating word for man or woman to say. Shows the person does not have the ability or knowledge to speak correctly and it is very offensive tohear that word. When I am watching a movie and the language is such, I turn the movie off. You have to take a stand somewhere and I take my stand there. I wish she hadn't said that and after she did, brag about it. Sorry Diane, I thought you were better than that.

382. TV is the ROOT of most problems in america, or anywhere for that matter. its getting harder and harder to keep filth out of our homes, so most people just throw up their hands and join in.
She is a professional and knew exactly what she was doing. She needs to quit trying to be so "cute" at such an old age! I wish people cared again how to raise their families without joining the herd.

383. Oh, come on. It was hilarious. I am still laughing, not about the slip of the F-word (and it is only a WORD) but the comment Diane Keaton made about working so long and hard on her personality. It was classic Keaton and a comment that I'm sure a lot of baby boomer women could identify with. So honest and so funny!

384. Your 'headlines' are deceptive AOL.... Look up "Cursing" and "Profanity".... NO, she did NOT curse AT the reporter...she used profanity about herself in the conversation. Why must you sensationalize everything to the point of distortion. Get real...

387. where have you people been living? in a shoebox up on the highest shelf in your bedroom closet? the "F" word no longer is offensive...how could it be? it's totally meaningless and no worse than saying "darn or dang or shoot or yipes or crap or hello". i don't swear at all but heard it coming out of the mouth's of young gal's working at pizza hut, roy rogers, arbys, burger king, etc...20 years ago!! they said it then like it was nothing so how can it be considered as a bad curse word now? same with the old women that played bingo...i'm a smoker so would go outside to have a cigarette in the warm spring, summer, and fall temperatures during half time break and the second i'd walk out the door, i'd run into a group of eldery women...all saying the "F" word as they complained about a cerain ball number not being called that they needed to win a bingo game. oh, not only this, but they'd even say the "Mother F'er" word and most of these women were mothers!! i have to be honest and was so very tempted to tell them to just say "Self F'er" instead. oh, it burned my ears quite a bit back in those days but in the last 20 years, i swear i've heard those words a zillion times in grocery stores, restaurants, theaters, at the malls, where i'm at, the ole' "F" word is there around me at every turn. Rap and Hip Hop artist's have been saying and singing the "F" and "Mother F'er" words in their tunes for many, many years now too. it's so common in most movies that now it's hard to even pay attention to it anymore. actually, most people don't even know where the word, "F", came from and it's really quite interesting. in the day's of bow and arrow wars, bows were made out of Yew tree branches due to their ability to bend and yet not break. it was generally called, "Plucking Yew" as one grabbed the strong string that you slip the end of the arrow onto with your thumb and index finger. once you did this, you pulled back on the sting, thus plucking Yew, and then you let go of the string and the arrow would fly and hopefully hit and disable or kill your enemy. when it was learned that if a thumb was cut off, one could no longer use it to pull back on the string so whenever the enemy was caught, they had their thumbs cut off. they were then unable to "Pluck Yew" so it was considered to be a curse. i'm sure many were then teased and taunted by others when they were told to go and "Pluck Yew"...they couldn't anymore, thus were useless as a foe. being that you now know how the "F" word was originated, why not just think that it's no big deal when you hear it...plus being that i'm sure you've also heard it a zillion or more times in the last 20 years, it really can't be all that shocking. there are no bad curse words left in this world so chill out, grow up some more, and let it go....just like the arrow that flew after you, your own self, plucked Yew. feel better now about that silly "F" word? i hope so.

388. I hate the "F" word. I hate that it is used so casually these days. It is disgusting !! Many people I know do NOT want to hear this word. We should not have to hear it spouted by no-class people who don't care about their own dignity as human beings. Shame on Diane Keaton, and anyone else that uses it on the air or anywhere for that matter. She is so used to saying it that it just slipped right out of her mouth. Her mother would be ashamed of her daughter. Keaton needs to have her mouth washed out with soap. People, this is a terribly disgusting word that we KNOW we shouldn't use. So let's all just stop it now. No more f****** around and using this word !!! I mean it now. Or I will tell your mother !!!

389. # 385 Well, well,...thank you for THAT diatribe. BTW it may have meant exactly what you say at the time but, sweet cakes, it still means taking one's pleasure without concern, boinking, bone jumping, nookie nookie and just plain animal sex, right or wrong. Mostly wrong or bad, e.i. unwanted sex. Example,... as in "the landlord F'd me out of my deposit" or "I F'd up at work and better start looking for another job."
I am glad that you have desensitized yourself. So far, I still cringe, 20 years or more later, unless it's used in a light hearted fashion ...such as it was on GMA...if anyone but the sound people there actually heard it...I sure didn't and was listening intently.
